Christ is Enough

Introduction

In this sermon titled “Christ is Enough,” the preacher reminds believers that our sufficiency, strength, and competency come from Christ alone. Just as the Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 3:5, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves… but our sufficiency is from God,” the message emphasizes that everything we do in serving and living for God depends on His grace working in and through us. Christ, who came by the water and the Spirit—through His baptism, death, and resurrection—has made us complete and qualified to live a victorious, Spirit-led life.

Believe

Believers must first believe that God wants them to live in His sufficiency. Christ is truly enough for every area of life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. When we awaken each day with the consciousness that Christ lives in us, we walk in divine strength and wisdom. This faith begins with believing in the Gospel of the water and the Spirit: that Jesus took all our sins upon Himself through His baptism in the Jordan River, died on the cross for our transgressions, and rose again to give us new life. Those who truly believe this gospel are empowered by the Holy Spirit to overcome sin, darkness, and deception. As Jesus promised, “He who believes in Me will do even greater works” (John 14:12).

Consistent

True faith is not momentary—it must be consistent. The preacher likened the believer’s walk to a flame that must never go out, just like the continual fire on the Old Testament altar. Consistency keeps us spiritually alive and effective in God’s service. It is easy to begin with zeal but lose momentum due to distractions, trials, or worldly pressures. Yet, as Christ abides in us, we must abide in Him daily (John 15:4). Consistency means remaining faithful in prayer, worship, and ministry regardless of challenges, trusting that Christ’s sufficiency will carry us through.

Grateful

Finally, a competent believer is one who is grateful. Gratitude keeps the heart humble and sensitive to God’s grace. A thankful heart acknowledges that every good work and every victory is accomplished by Christ’s power, not our own. Gratitude repels negativity, renews our spirit, and strengthens our reliance on God. It transforms murmuring into praise and helps us live joyfully under God’s sufficiency.

Conclusion

The sermon concludes with a clear reminder: Christ is enough—for every need, every challenge, and every calling. To lead a fruitful, Spirit-filled life, believers must believe in Christ’s sufficiency, remain consistent in their walk, and stay grateful for His grace. When we live this way, the Gospel of the water and the Spirit continues to flow through us, empowering us to glorify God and serve Him faithfully in every area of life.
