The Watchman’s Duty
As believers, we are not passive recipients of God’s grace. We are those who have received the true gospel of the water and the Spirit. Jesus Christ took away all our sins through His baptism, bore our judgment on the cross, and rose again to give us new life. Through this complete work, we are made whole and reconciled to God. This truth is not partial, but complete, and it is this very gospel that fills the emptiness in the hearts of men and brings true life. In today’s message, we will look at three essential responsibilities that define a watchman’s life: being alert to spiritual danger, being bold to proclaim the truth, and being accountable for the ministry entrusted to us.
How Do You Measure Spiritual Maturity?
Spiritual maturity is not a vague idea. Just as physical and intellectual growth can be measured, the Bible teaches us that spiritual growth can also be measured. Our growth becomes evident to those around us—believers and even unbelievers. God’s desire is that we would mature into spiritual completeness, continually growing toward the measure of the fullness of Christ.
Growth according to God’s Design
Spiritual growth is not accidental—it is intentional according to God’s design. Just as earthly parents care deeply about the healthy development of their children, our Heavenly Father is deeply concerned about our spiritual growth. God did not save us to remain spiritual infants.
God’s Purpose for NCCKL
God has a clear design for His church. From Ephesians 4:13, we see that God’s purpose for NCCKL is revealed through three spiritual dimensions. The width speaks of unity, the depth speaks of maturity, and the height speaks of Christlikeness. God is building His people intentionally, according to this divine design, so that the church may grow and stand firmly for His glory.
