Roots of Compromise
Compromise does not arise overnight—it grows beneath the surface. If we are not spiritually alert, the same roots that destroyed Saul can take hold of our own hearts. As we look at 1 Samuel 15, I pray the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to recognize these roots and lead us into true obedience through the Gospel of the water and the Spirit. With that, let us look together at the three roots of compromise that Scripture reveals through Saul’s life.
Marks of a Faithful Leader
This sermon, “Marks of a Faithful Leader,” brings the month’s focus on faithfulness to a close, reminding believers that every born-again child of God—having received the Holy Spirit—is called to lead through the Spirit’s power. True faithfulness does not come from our flesh, which is corrupted by sin, but from the Holy Spirit who indwells those who have been born again through the gospel of the water and the Spirit.
It’s Time to Choose
Life is full of choices, and the decisions we make shape our destiny. Joshua, at the end of his life, stood before Israel and challenged them to make the most important choice of all: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
What Matters to God is Faithfulness
In a world that often celebrates size, power, and influence, God reminds us that what truly matters to Him is faithfulness. Faithfulness is not measured by how big a church is or how many resources it has, but by its steadfastness in walking with God, holding onto His Word, and persevering through challenges.
