The Working Power of the Word
The greatest power given to the believer is found in the Word of God. God’s Word is not ordinary speech, human opinion, or religious tradition. It is inspired by God, authoritative in all it declares, and sufficient for everything concerning salvation, sanctification, spiritual maturity, and righteous living. The Word was given to transform us inwardly so that we increasingly reflect the likeness of Christ. It is central to the believer’s life because it shapes our understanding, renews our hearts, and directs how we live before God.
Do Not Be Deceived
We are living in the physical world, but there is also a spiritual world operating at the same time. There are two invisible kingdoms operating in this world—the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. They exist parallel to each other, but they do not mingle. Jesus made this clear in the Gospel of John 18:36 when He said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Though we live in this physical world, it is presently influenced by darkness, governed by a ruler who stands in opposition to God and all that belongs to Him.
Shallow Faith in Deep Waters
The deep waters of the last days represent the severe spiritual challenges we will face. Deception will intensify. False teachers will arise. Even signs and wonders may mislead many. In such an environment, shallow faith will not survive. Immaturity becomes dangerous because it leaves us unstable, easily swayed, and unable to discern truth from error. The storms are coming, and only those firmly rooted will stand.
Effects of Spiritual Immaturity
Every believer begins their spiritual journey in a state of immaturity. This is natural, expected, and part of God’s design. Just as no one is born physically mature, no one is born spiritually mature either. For this reason, God does not condemn spiritual immaturity. He understands it, allows it, and patiently guides His children through the process of growth.
