Truth Matters – Resurrection as a Lifestyle
What sets the Christian faith apart is not only the promise of life after death, but the reality of new life now. Other belief systems may speak of what happens after death, but the Gospel of water and the Spirit declares that believers can begin living the resurrection life even while still in this body. Christ lives in His people today. This means the power of the resurrection is not limited to a future event—it is a present experience, available every moment to those who are truly born again. Today, I want to lead you through three key truths from Scripture that show us how to live this resurrection life.
God, Have Mercy on Me!
How many of us have cried out, “God, have mercy on me”? We need God’s mercy every single day, from the moment we wake up until we lie down to rest. Yet while many ask for mercy, few truly understand what God’s mercy is, how it works, and how great it really is. Mercy is not something we can demand or earn; it is God’s sovereign will. He alone decides when, how, and to whom He will show mercy, and our lives are sustained entirely by that mercy.
Merciful Leaders
We are entering a new monthly focus on Merciful, and this focus will look specifically at the pillar of leadership—how leaders ought to be merciful. When Jesus spoke about the Beatitudes, He made it clear that the inward man is what matters most to God. He is more concerned with who we are than with what we do. Our character matters more than our outward actions, and everything begins with the heart. That’s why being merciful is not an external gesture or a human emotion—it is divine, Christ-centred, and only flows from a heart transformed by the Gospel of the water and the Spirit.
Roots of Compromise
Compromise does not arise overnight—it grows beneath the surface. If we are not spiritually alert, the same roots that destroyed Saul can take hold of our own hearts. As we look at 1 Samuel 15, I pray the Holy Spirit will open our eyes to recognize these roots and lead us into true obedience through the Gospel of the water and the Spirit. With that, let us look together at the three roots of compromise that Scripture reveals through Saul’s life.
