Pure In Heart

Pure In Heart

Impurity can begin quietly in the heart. What may seem like a small desire can grow and eventually affect our thoughts, actions, and even our faith. The story of Gehazi in 2 Kings 5:20–27 gives us a clear picture of how this can happen. Gehazi was serving alongside Elisha and had witnessed how God healed Naaman of his leprosy, however he allowed greed and covetousness to take root in his heart. Although his impurity was not visible on the outside, it was already present within him. This reminds us that outward holiness does not necessarily mean inward purity, because God looks at what is happening in our hearts.

Walking in Wisdom

Walking in Wisdom

God desires His people to walk in wisdom. Throughout Scripture, wisdom is never presented as mere knowledge or good judgement, but as a life that is directed by God. In Isaiah 30, we see Judah facing the threat of the Assyrian Empire. Instead of seeking the Lord’s counsel, the nation turned to Egypt for security, trusting human wisdom rather than God’s guidance. Although the Lord rebuked their decision, He did not abandon them. In His mercy, He promised to guide all who would humble themselves and return to Him. That promise is beautifully captured in Isaiah 30:21: “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.'” These words reveal God’s heart to lead His people in every season of life.

House of Wisdom

House of Wisdom

The Bible identifies God not just as the source of wisdom, but wisdom itself. If we are to live in fellowship with God and walk in His wisdom, an important question arises: Where does God dwell? If I were to ask you today, “Where does God live?” what would your answer be? Perhaps some would say, “He is in heaven.” Others might point to a church building and say, “This is God’s house.” Throughout Scripture, He progressively reveals this desire through a series of houses, each pointing to His ultimate purpose of making His home within us through the Gospel of Water and Spirit.

Are You Wise or Foolish?

Are You Wise or Foolish?

Throughout Scripture, God consistently contrasts the wise with the foolish. Whether it is the wise man building his house on the rock, the five wise virgins who were prepared for the bridegroom’s arrival, or Noah faithfully preparing the ark before the flood, God’s message remains the same: wisdom believes His Word, obeys it, and prepares for eternity before it is too late. As we look at James 3:13–18, we will consider three important truths: The Source, The Choice, and The Revelation of Wisdom.
